REAL ID Rebellion

Most Americans have no idea what the sinister Department of Homeland Security is planning for us. And why should they? What has mainstream media been saying about the REAL ID, a national ID card that will be required for you to board a plane and receive merely the benign "papers please" treatment. Without REAL ID, you'll probably be strip-searched, or close to it. The government says that this, of course, will make us safer. People agree; people tend not to think to much and we've been conditioned, through government schools and mainstream media, to believe that what the government says is true. Lately, however, some states have been waking up. And I must say that I am proud to live in one that is beginning a huge rebellion regarding the REAL ID. Here's part of an e-mail from Steven Vincent, who is a real freedom fighter. We CAN stop the REAL ID!

This article suggests that the feds may soon require the REAL ID to buy medicine:

Stewart Baker, the assistant director for policy at Homeland Security and a longtime needler of privacy groups, suggested on Wednesday that the federal law could be tweaked to require controversial REAL ID identification cards, according to News.com. Federal rules -- such as those requiring identification to enter federal buildings or to board a plane without being patted down -- are the hammer in the government's efforts to make recalictrant states comply with the government's rules for standardizing driver's licenses.

But this beautiful article, courtesy of Lew Rockwell's site, states that California is beginning a true rebellion. I wish I could say the same for North Carolina!

In a Tuesday letter to Homeland Security chief Michael Chertoff, the head of California's DMV said that while California had already applied for and gotten an extension on the Real ID deadline, it wasn't actually committing to complying with Real ID rules by 2010. That's when states who ask for extension have to begin issuing driver's licenses and state IDs that comply with the federal rules.

The REAL ID monster can be stopped!
